Members also follow our community guidelines, and our privacy policy explains what we do with your information.
1. Agreement
Jetpack Labs Inc., a British Columbia company ("we", "us"), runs larachat.co and the LaraChat Slack. By using the site or joining the Slack, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the community.
2. What LaraChat is
LaraChat offers:
- Laravel articles and resources.
- A job board.
- Event and meetup listings.
- A Slack community for Laravel developers.
- Partnership and advertising packages for companies.
3. Joining the community
Joining means we send you an invite to our Slack workspace. Inside it, you follow our community guidelines and Slack's own terms. We can remove anyone who breaks them, with or without warning.
4. Accounts
If you have an account on this site, you agree to:
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe.
- Take responsibility for everything done under your account.
- Tell us straight away if someone uses it without your permission.
5. Content you submit
When you submit an article, job or event, you confirm that it:
- Is yours, or you have the rights to share it.
- Does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property.
- Is relevant to Laravel and related technology.
- Contains nothing offensive, harmful or illegal.
6. How we review submissions
We review everything before it goes live. We can accept, reject or ask for changes, edit for clarity and formatting, decide when it is published, and remove anything that breaks these terms.
7. Your content, our licence
You keep ownership of what you submit. You give LaraChat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish it, share it on our channels (including Slack, the newsletter and social media) and adjust it so it displays properly.
8. Partnerships and paid work
We do not sell packages through the site. To advertise, sponsor or partner with us, contact us first. We agree the scope, price and payment terms with you in writing before any work starts, and that agreement governs refunds and cancellations.
If you pay online, Stripe processes the payment and its terms apply. We will refund a duplicate payment or a charge caused by a technical error if you tell us within 30 days.
9. What you must not do
Do not use LaraChat to:
- Break any law.
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information.
- Harass, threaten or harm anyone.
- Send spam, malware or anything malicious.
- Get into our systems or other people's accounts without permission.
- Interfere with how the site works, including by getting past our bot checks.
- Scrape the site or collect members' details with automated tools.
10. Jobs, events and links from others
Many job posts, events and articles come from other companies or public feeds. We do not employ for, run or vouch for them. Check any job, event or link yourself before you rely on it.
11. Our intellectual property
The site, its design and our own content belong to LaraChat and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
12. No warranties
We provide LaraChat "as is" and "as available". We make no promises that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
13. Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, LaraChat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, data or business.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover LaraChat for any claim, loss or cost that comes from your use of the site or your breach of these terms.
15. Ending access
We can suspend or end your access to the site or the community at any time, with or without notice, if you break these terms or harm other members or our business.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia. If you live somewhere that gives you rights these terms cannot waive, you keep those rights.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Using LaraChat after a change means you accept it.
18. If part of these terms is invalid
The rest still applies.
