PHP Oxford meetup

About

This month we are excited to be joined by two speakers!

First up is Chris Tankersley (@dragonmantank) with a brand new talk about getting PHP support for Google Cloud Functions (finally).

"My name is Chris Tankersley, and I am primarily a PHP developer as well as what we now term as 'devops,' which means I deal with the servers as well. While I spend most of my day working in Zend Framework 2, I'm also quite familiar with Symfony 2, Drupal 7 and 8, Wordpress, Silex, Sculpin, and many other different PHP frameworks and CMS's. I'm available for contracting work through my company, Tankersley Web Solutions."

After that, we have Larry Garfield (@Crell) with: "Never* Use Arrays".

"Larry Garfield is an aspiring blacksmith who moonlights as a Staff Engineer for the TYPO3 project. When not trying to hand-forge his own medieval armory from scratch he tries to teach developers and development managers the skills of yesteryear that the industry has forgotten. He is the author of several books on PHP, including "Thinking Functionally in PHP" and "Exploring PHP 8.0.""

Interesting in speaking?

If you'd like to present or even do a lightning talk (5-20 minutes) at a future event, please get in touch!

Refreshments & sponsors

In the olden days, we'd have a physical meet-up and Refreshments (drinks and snacks) would be provided courtesy of our sponsors. Despite not being able to take advantage of their generosity, we continue to thank our sponsors Invitial (https://www.invitial.com/) for their support, and to OCFI for use of the venue (IRL).

Code of Conduct

Please note that this meet-up is covered by our code of conduct (https://github.com/phpoxford/code-of-conduct/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md). We request that all attendees abide by the code of conduct at all times. Thank you!
